Dr Hu Long

Profile

Dr. Long is currently a research fellow in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW Sydney. He received both his bachelor’s degree (2011) and PhD degree (2016) from Mechanical Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Dr. Long was on a joint PhD program at UC Berkeley. He received the China National Scholarship twice from the Ministry of Education (2012, 2015) and First Prize of Academic Contribution Award from HUST in 2013. Dr. Long’s research is focused on investigating mechanical, electronic, and chemical properties of nanoscale materials, and exploring their practical applications including fire safety engineering, low power sensors and speakers, and energy storage devices. He has over 20 peer-reviewed papers and 5 patents on these topics. He has been serving as invited reviewer for top journals, such as Advanced Functional Materials, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, Nanoscale, 2D Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry C.
